Precision Neuroscience

Brain-computer interface to restore interaction with environment

Precision Neuroscience was founded by star neurosurgeon and former Neuralink co-founder Dr. Ben Rapoport to create the next generation of brain-computer interfaces to restore interaction with the environment. The company is seen as a leader among the "Big 6" in BCI, spearheading clinical development with the highest number of patients implanted to date - and the first FDA approval.

Technology

How they’re delivering breakthroughs

While most BCIs are either too invasive (with dozens of electrodes penetrating the brain surface) or not close enough to the brain (and hence not getting sufficient information about movement intention), Precision Neuroscience has optimized this balance. The ultra-thin, flexible array does not penetrate the brain surface, but sits just slightly above it: close enough to record high-quality electrical signals to drive seamless interaction with the environment, whilst removing the damaging effect on the brain of previous implants. This drives outsized functional impact whilst minimizing surgery risks.
